Military Veterans Workshops Series
The Western North Carolina Sculpture Center is pleased to show our appreciation for those who have served by offering FREE workshops to military veterans.
Limited spaces available on a first come first serve basis.
Limit to one free workshop per veteran per year at WNCSC.
Must show proof of military service when arriving to workshop.
All materials and safety equipment provided.
Bring a bag lunch.
Workshops are from 10am - 4pm with a 30 minute break for lunch.
Blacksmithing Workshop
Learn basic blacksmithing techniques with experiences blacksmith Zach Smith-Johnson from Boone, NC. Zach is the Director of WNCSC and pushes the boundaries of forging and couples it with precise steel fabrication. Participants will bring home several custom and personally forged items.

Welding Workshop
Learn basic stick welding and MIG welding with experienced steel fabricator Joseph Bigley. Joseph is the Executive Director of WNCSC and faculty at Appalachian State University Department of Art. The workshop will cover a working knowledge of welding techniques as well as approaching fabrication with a sculptor's eye.
